On 25 April, the Consulate General held an International Chinese Language Day and Lanting Culture Salon themed open-house event. Nearly 100 people participated, including Swedish language and cultural scholars, Chinese language learners and international students from local universities such as University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology.

In his speech, Consul General Yang Peidong expressed the expectation that people can take Chinese as a vessel to explore Chinese culture, navigate the Chinese wisdom of harmony without uniformity, and pursue the common ideal of peace and inclusiveness. He also gave a special lecture on the history of Chinese character writing.

During the event, there were a series of cultural performance and demonstration programs, including the Guzheng music show, Chinese folk dances, Tai Chi, Chinese chess and Go, Chinese calligraphy and brush painting, etc. Guests all had immersive experience by making handicrafts, trying on Hanfu costume, using brush pen to write Chinese characters or make their own painting. They also did Ba Duan Jin fitness exercise together, feeling the Chinese philosophy of combining strength and softness in harmony.
