On 9 May, the Consulate General held a grand reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Sweden on the sailing ship of Götheborg of Sweden. More than 140 people from the political, commercial and academic circles attended the event.

Consul General Yang Peidong remarked that the Consulate General would continue to work hard for the friendship between the two countries, constantly tap the potential for cooperation in business, trade, technological innovation, green transformation, cultural exchanges and other fields, thereby achieving a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.

Afterwards, Lord Mayor of the City Council of Gothenburg Aslan Akbas, Deputy Governor of Västra Götaland County Jörgen Peters, the former Governor Lars Bäckström, CEO at Geely Europe Innovation and Collaboration AB Gang Wei, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Gothenburg Malin Broberg, Chairman of the Consular Corps of Western Sweden Göran Hult, and the owner of the Götheborg ship Stefan Björk shared their insightful views on China-Sweden friendship and cooperation.
