The Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Gothenburg was established in 1997, with a consular district of 7 counties in south-western Sweden, including Värmland, Jönköping, Kronoberg, Blekinge, Skåne, Halland and Västra Götaland. In recent years, Chinese local governments have maintained frequent exchanges with counties and cities inside the consular district, people-to-people and cultural exchanges have become more active, economic and trade cooperation continues to deepen, personnel intercourses get frequent increasingly.

The Consulate-General would provide consular service to overseas Chinese, Chinese students as well as Chinese enterprises, and offer practical information to institutions and individuals who are willing to get to know China, visit China or seek cooperation opportunities with China.
