The Latest Adjustment for the Visa Application Requirements

The Chinese Consulate-General in Gothenburg will make the following adjustments to the Chinese visa application requirements: 

I. Z / S1 / S2 Visa

Foreign nationals travelling to China for working purposes may apply for Z visa with a valid Notification Letter of Foreigner's Work Permit or the Foreigner Work Permit Notice. The invitation letter (PU letter) is not needed. 

Family members of the Z-visa applicants may apply for S1 or S2 Visa by providing proof of kinship and other relevant documents. The invitation letter (PU letter) is not needed. 

Family members refer to spouses, parents, children under 18 and parents-in-law.

II. M / F Visa 

Foreign nationals bearing a valid invitation letter (PU letter) issued by Chinese central government institutions, provincial foreign affairs office or commerce departments, state-owned enterprises or foreign affairs departments of municipal governments, may apply for M or F Visa. 

III. Q1 / Q2 Visa

Foreign family members of a Chinese citizen; Foreign family members of a foreign national with Permanent Residence Card in China may apply for Q1 or Q2 Visa with proof of kinship and other application documents.

Family members refer to spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, children-in-law, sisters and brothers, grandparents and grandchildren.

IV. Applicants of the aforementioned categories should get the vaccination approved by China or WHO, or in their Emergency Use Listing.

V. Visa applications related to tourist or other personal affairs are still temporarily suspended.

VI. Applicants should send photocopies of all required documents in advance by e-mail (gbg@visaforchina.se) to Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Gothenburg. The staff will preview all of the documents, and then make an appointment with applicants.
